Project 52 / Tionscnamh 52
I was delighted to be invited to take part in Project 52/Tionscnamh 52,
an interesting art project, that took place on the Dingle Peninsula, over 2017,
and was exhibited as part of Feile na Bealtaine, our fantastic arts festival,
the May Bank Holiday Weekend.

Ar Gor follow-up
Week 2 of my Blog-a-Week Challenge, and I'm going to finally post some pics of my finished piece for the exhibition Ar Gor, which took place in An Lab, Dingle, as part of Feile na Bealtaine, last May. I haven't any pics of the final piece framed, as the piece went into the framers before I went to Spain, went directly to the exhibition, and then was sold! Which I am delighted about...

Ar Gor - eggs, geese, women, feet and other stories
Here's a sneaky peek at a piece I'm nearly finished making for an exhibition here in Dingle this April. 'Ar Gor/The Hatchery' is a group exhibition in An Lab, with a theme of eggs, geese and other associations. 'Tá an gé ar gor' - The goose is hatching. From some research into this project, I have been drawn into the murky world of eggs, geese, feet, distaffs and other stories...

The 6th International Biennial Exhibition on Mini Textile, Ukraine
In all the hecticness of the past few weeks, I'd completely forgotten about the Scythia Exhibition! It opened last night in the Ukraine. Obviously I didn't attend, but I'm delighted my little piece of my embroidery is part of this exhibition

Some photos from Fís/Imagine Corca Dhuibhne 2033
Everyone was invited to write their ideas, hopes and dreams of the future on postcards and the walls.
I'd written a very brief post about an upcoming Fís/Imagine Corca Dhuibhne (see here) - An instillation by Transition Towns Corca Dhuibhne in a derelict building for our Arts festival, Feile na Bealtaine.
Fís Corca Dhuibhne opened its doors on Thursday, the beginning of the festival, and quickly became the highlight of the festival. I know I'm a bit biased, being one of the participants, but it truly was a magnificent project, and a perfect example of transition towns ethics. People coming together, to share ideas, work, and possibilities of the future.
Stones and sods were gathered from all over the peninsula. I had to quickly do up the 'Please step on the grass sign' as people were not stepping on the grass

Hang Up's
Here's a piece I made recently for an exhibition, "Hand Up's", currently being organised by Prudence Mapstone, in Australia. The criteria was freefrom, on a hanger...so that what I did.

Craft of the Honan Chapel and Textile Conference, Cork
I've been so bad at updating my blog; I forgot to write up about the latest Cork Textile Network Exhibition!!
Unfortunately it's over now so you can’t see it....but I'm sure it was very good....I submitted my hound lace piece, which, I thought would fit in with the Celtic Twilight feel of the Chapel.
If you have never visit, it is well worth it, in fact why not come down on the 3rd of March??
The 2012 Cork Textile Network Conference, takes place in UCC, and is more open and accessible to people with any kind of interest in textiles. This year you can buy a half day or day pass to the talks and lectures.
