What have I been up to?

2 blog posts in one evening?! Am making up for the last month, and possible the next month ahead, as it's going to be a busy one. Here's some updates on what I've been up to...

Electric Picnic is on!

Sit ‘n Stitch Workshops: From 12pm - 4pm, there is crochet and knitting workshops, suitable for beginners. And my favourite...Loop ‘n Lounge Sessions! From 4pm - 6pm, there is an open stitching session, bring your own stitching to work on, practise your stitches, get hints and tips, or help make squares for Pink Creative Textile Auction blankets.

I'm going for an overly mushroom theme this year, since everyone seemed to love them last year... I did have dreams of making a giant mushroom tent/marquee, but well, time, effort, and all that, it isn't happening. You'll have to make do with the smaller versions..

Shrek 4

Went to the cinema to see Shrek 4. The only Shrek movie I have seen in the cinema. Well, I still prefer the first one, and I was very disappointed there wasn't a spinning wheel in sight. Even my son noticed. So, he asked for a Shrek. It's not the best thing I've ever made, although I was quite happy with the ears, but I haven't gotten round to the boots yet... (Prob should have just gone into McDonalds and gotten a free one with a Happy Meal)

Furniture Making

Have been making some very rustic furniture for the Castle/Doll's House. Complete with cushions and throw!

Hi Stitchlily,
you're going to say I'm daft, but is it my understanding that there are craft sessions ie knitting, crochet, spinning etc at the Electruc Picnic, I though it was just a music festival?
where would i get more information about this?
regards
liz o connor, who has just found your blog from Ravelry page. i'm zileoco in Rav.

ps. love the mushrooms, the Shrek and the dinky little furniture for Caislean Orla! Isn't it great to have that doll's house again after all these years?
In my house, my teenage daughters are cycling the bikes I bought for myself more than 15 years ago, and I think that's amazing - I had no idea when buying them that one day I would see my daughters cucle off on them!
time.... life..... funny things, them...

Sorry Liz, my poor neglected blog! Been so busy have hardly had a chance to catch up with computer stuff. The Electric Picnic is a 'Arts and Music Festival' and has all kinds of things on. I'll be based in Greencrafts, a little village of craftworkers, there's lots of woodwork, woodcarving, basketry, etc, but in textiles it's usually me (spinning, kniting, crochet), and the 2-3 felters.
